The key to a creamy smoothie

There are so many ways to thicken a smoothie: you could use Greek yogurt, silken tofu, avocado, and many more.

But for this recipe, we're going to mix frozen bananas with almond butter and use them as our thickener.

They blend really well, seriously.

Pro tip: you can add chocolate protein powder to even enhance both the taste and protein content of your smoothie.

  • 1 Frozen ripe bananas
  • 1 Cup of unsweetened vanilla milk or any of your choice works too
  • 1/5 Cup of frozen strawberries


  • Sliced almonds
  • Sliced strawberries
  • Dark chocolate chips
  • Sliced bananas


  1. Place all ingredients in a smoothie blender and blend until smooth.
